Aurentia Group ("Aurentia Group", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. We handle personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. The personal data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Enquiry data — information you provide when you submit a consultation or charter enquiry: your name, email address, telephone number, and the details of your request or requirements.
• Technical and usage data — collected automatically when you visit the site: your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages requested. This is captured in our content-delivery and server access logs and is used for security, fraud prevention, and reliability.

We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health, ethnicity, or biometric information). Please do not include such information in your enquiry.

2. How and why we use your data, and our legal basis

• To respond to and manage your enquiry and to provide yacht charter advisory services you request. Legal basis: performance of, or taking steps at your request prior to entering into, a contract; and our legitimate interests in responding to prospective clients.
• To operate, secure, and improve the website and to prevent fraud, abuse, and spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, functioning service.
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations where applicable. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your personal data.

3. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

• Our advisory team within Aurentia Group, to respond to and fulfil your enquiry.
• Service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions — principally Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provides our secure hosting, storage, and email delivery infrastructure.
• Authorities or advisers where required by law, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their own marketing.

4. International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted primarily in AWS data centres in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Where any personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place — such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses — so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

5. How long we keep your data

• Enquiry data: retained for up to 24 months from your last contact, after which it is automatically deleted, unless we have an ongoing relationship or a legal reason to keep it longer.
• Technical / access logs: retained for up to 90 days for security and reliability purposes.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• be informed about how your data is used (this policy);
• access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
• restrict or object to our processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
• request portability of the data you provided to us; and
• withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@aurentiagroup.com. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge in most cases.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.

7. How we protect your data

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest, restricted and audited access, network and application firewalls, and automatic deletion at the end of the retention period.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We use a small amount of local browser storage strictly to enforce submission rate-limiting (to protect against spam) — this stays on your device and is not used to track you. The site loads typography from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to serve the font files; this is a standard technical function and is not used by us for tracking.

9. Children

This website and our services are intended for adults and are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
